Day 9 - 29-03-2020
Quito, Ecuador 4 Sundays Ago.
Our South American adventure was prompted by an invitation to the wedding of some great friends of ours from Santiago Chile. They decided that Cartagena, on the Caribbean coast in Colombia was the ideal place for a romantic wedding.
Day 9
How time flies and things change.
Today, Sunday, we’re in our 9th day of quarantine, fortunately in our own home. Only a month ago, things were not as focussed. Corona virus was an issue, but in the background.
Four Sundays ago, we were in Quito Ecuador, with a greater urban population of 4.7 million. It’s the second highest capital city in the world after La Paz, and the closest to the equator. Mostly it’s at an elevation of 2,850 metres. However, some parts at the edge of Quito rise to around 4,200 metres above sea level.
